Well, we had our own little Christmas for the first time with just our little family. It was a lot of fun to start doing our own traditions, but I did miss seeing all of our family on Christmas Day. The kids slept in until 8am and then we went down and looked in our stockings to see what Santa brought us. After that, I was too hungry to continue, so we took a break and ate breakfast and then went back to opening presents. I'm so glad the kids didn't mind the break! My sister in Colorado went sledding on Christmas, and I was a little jealous, but we had fun hanging out in our pajamas all day and not cooking a huge meal. All we had was leftovers. It was a great, relaxing day. (As you can see from these pictures, my children really know the meaning of the word "cheese" when posing for the camera!)
We went to Yuma a few days later for Spencer's grandparent's family reunion. It was fun and hectic, but wonderful. Right when we pulled into Yuma, Carli woke up and puked up a carrot. We thought that was strange, but then she got progressively more sick the next day. Spencer was pretty much the only one that caught it, and he was down for 5 days! He was the only one that didn't gain weight over the holidays! We went to Indio, California for the New Year and spent a few days at a trendwest timeshare with Spencer's immediate family. Sterling even brought his "friend" that he is going to buy a ring for and propose to sometime soon. It was warm enough to swim outside. We had so much fun there.
Well, now we're back to normal life again. What can I look forward to now? I guess Groundhogs Day.
