Aside from the $400 electric bill we have to put up, summer can be quite lovely, even in 112 degree weather.
Especially sitting out in the hot, hot sun during swim meets. Don't ask me why, but they held these swim meets at night between 5-8pm. It is still over 100 degrees at this time, so we just soak in our own sweat while we enviously watch our children frolicking in the cool water.

His awards ceremony

I unfortunately turned the big 30 this summer as well. Stacy and Chad, Kristin and Mike, and Karen all came to my little party.

I've never been a cake person, so Spencer made this fruit pizza for me. Delicious!

Cale and Carli wanted to try a lemonade stand this year. Right when we got it all set up, the one and only storm of the entire summer rolled in and down-poured on us. It was rather ironic. We'll have to try again next summer. They made their own poster and everything.

Now that Danielle is 2, Carli and her are becoming great friends.

Getting ready for church.

Spencer inherited a bunch of bow ties from his grandpa. Cale discovered them and absolutely LOVES them. The first time he wore one to church, a bunch of teenage boys were coming up to him and complimenting him, saying they wished they had a bow tie. Cale was very proud. He loves nothing more than to dress up in a 3-piece suit with a bow tie. WHY?? Because that's what vampire's wear. If we would let him wear his cape to church, trust me, he would.

Playing in our pool is our favorite part of summer
