Danielle Dorothy Jarvis

Spencer and the kids bought me some beautiful roses-red and pink. Carli wanted to get all pink roses, because it's her favorite color, and Cale wanted to get red roses, because red is my favorite color. Well, they found a bouquet with red and pink, and Spencer thought that would solve everything, but nope! Carli through a HUGE tantrum in the store. Nothing would stop her rantings. Spencer just picked her up and headed toward the checkout counter. After he finished paying, he grabbed her and held her tightly. Not knowing what else to say, the teenage checkout boy just said, "have a good day." Spencer replied, "I'm trying to." If he didn't have Cale with him, it probably would've looked like he was abducting her, the way he was dragging a screaming child out of the store. But such is the life with a 2 year old.

More pictures of Danielle

My mom came to visit and take care of me for a week. It is so wonderful to have her here. Especially since Danielle seems to think her bedtime is 2am. She wants to eat every hour from 11pm to 2 am. It's so terrible! I hurt so bad and I'm so tired. So my mom took her and let me sleep. I can't wait until she gets on a schedule-I live for order and scheduling!

Danielle came with a bang!

Well, Danielle was 2 days late and I went to the doctor for another check-up. They were concerned, from a previous ultrasound, that she was at least 9 lbs. They told me to go to the hospital and get another ultrasound to see if that assumption was correct. So, off to the hospital we went, but not to have the baby. I had another ultrasound, and it showed that she was now 10lbs 5 oz. I couldn't believe it! They encourage me to get a C-section, but that was the last thing I wanted to do. I told them that if my mom and sister could deliver 10 lb babies, that so could I. So, they decided to induce me right then. I was induced at 4pm and received the lovely epidural by 6pm. At 7:50pm, they told me to start pushing. I pushed for 7 minutes and she was out! I was so proud of myself. She ended up being 10lbs 2 oz, born on May 27th. I don't know why she was so big. My other two were 7 and 8 lbs. Oh well. She's a chubby little thing that eats plenty well.
It's been a week now, and I am just dealing with all the emotions of post-partum. I cry all the time, especially because Spencer just left on a 4-day camp out to the Grand Canyon with the teachers in our ward. I thought I would be okay because my mom is here to help me, but I'm not. I'm mad that he left me. When he gets back, I'm going to tell him that he's never allowed to leave me again for at least 2 weeks after I have a baby.

4 days left!

I had to take a picture with my friend, Lili, who is due 4 days after me. I am due on Sunday, so we hurried and took a picture together before one of us pops!

Sterling's wedding

Sterling is Spencer's little brother. He just got married last weekend to RaeAnn in Phoenix. I am so happy I was able to attend even though it was only a week before I was due. I look lovely up in the front of all the pictures! Spencer was all happy picking that spot for us. I should have just hid in the back! RaeAnn's sister was also as pregnant as I was, so that made me feel a little bit better.

Yuma Trip

Yuma is where Spencer's parents live. It is the hottest city in the U.S. And if you've ever driven to San Diego on I-8 (I think it's I-8), you've probably stopped for lunch or dinner in Yuma. Anyway, we visited the family in April and went to the fair. Spencer's sister's, Stacey and Shaley, showed and sold their pigs there. There is a picture of Stacey cleaning her pig. Doesn't look like the best of times to me! But we love visiting Yuma.

SOMETHING ABOUT SPENCER

I got tagged to write things about Spencer, so here it goes:

A -ATV of choice? No idea
B - Born? June 1979
C-Cookies or Candy? Cookies or candy, as long as they have peanut butter or caramel in them.
D-Date of Choice when you go out? Dinner- something cheap or free
E-Essential Item? Cell Phone or shoes (he always wears shoes, even in the house-his feet are beautiful)
F-Favorite Foods? I make a good pineapple chicken and rice dinner that he gets all excited about, and he loves vanilla ice cream. Because we're in Arizona, tacos in Mexico are high on his list.
G-Gas or Diesel vehicle? Gas
H-Hobbies? reading the newspaper, playing soccer or racquetball, and like Debbie's husband Matt, creating excel spreadsheets
I-Ice Cream Flavor? vanilla
J-Job? Real Estate accounting and financial consulting at Ernst and Young
K-Kids? 2, almost 3
L-Last Vacation as a couple? We went to D.C. with my sister, Debbie, and her husband Matt last summer.
M-Morning person or night owl? Both-he doesn't need very much sleep
N-Number of Siblings? 3 brothers and 2 sisters, he is 2nd oldest.
O-OCD or sloppy? OCD-I can never iron or fold the clothes just right, and I have to button his shirts at least 3 buttons when I hang them up. His socks are color coordinated as well.
P-Pet Peeves? Proportions: if I slice cheese or tomatoes or anything else too big for meals, he hates that! And in general, he just hates it when people do stupid things.
Q-Quiet or Loud? quiet
R-Restaurant? Anything cheap but good
S-Sports? soccer, football, hockey, racquetball
T-Tight wad or spender? Tight wad when it comes to things for us, and a spender when it comes to charity. Isn't he just a saint? I'm just the opposite!
U-Unknown Fact about him? He seems nice and quiet and un-opinionated, but in reality, he has an opinion about everything
V-Vegetables? He loves them
W- Worst Habit? gulping his water, making him burp a lot (Spencer doesn't think this is the cause, but I know it is)
X-Xtra Curricular activities in high school? Wrestling, football, choir, tennis, student council, work
Y-Your favorite things about him? He is always so helpful with the children and patient and loving with me. He will do anything for me-I probably take advantage of that, but he doesn't seem to mind.
Z-Zodiac Sign? Gemini
